†  SUNDAY MASS IS AT 9:30 A.M.  THROUGH THE SUMMER †

  Hello to All!

It has been three weeks since I arrived at Corpus Christi Church.  They have certainly been unique and most interesting weeks.  I am slowly getting myself settled into my office and my living quarters.  Once again, I remind you to please remind me of your names as you leave church so that I might begin to put names and faces together.  I would ask that you do this for the rest of the summer.  I thoroughly enjoyed Artscape and our church certainly played an important role in the weekend.  How blessed we are to have such a beautiful, prayerful sacred work of art!  Take care and try to stay cool in this heat.

Peace, Fr. Marty

Artscape 2010

Corpus Christi’s participation as a classical music venue was very well received and attended.  The performers were exceptional in their presentations.  We celebrate our wonderful partnership with Artscape!

Message from Principal of Fr. Charles Hall School

As her last act of ministry on the closing of Fr. Charles Hall School, Kathleen Filippelli, principal, sent us a letter thanking the parishioners of Corpus Christi “for our gifts that have been life-giving; our investments in the FCH children that have paid a multitude of dividends.”  She stated: “Your partnership with us gave life to our commitment, and for that I am very grateful.”  She asked to be kept in prayer as she assumes her role as principal at the new Holy Angels Catholic School.  For more information on HACS visit www.hacschool.org.

Thank You To Our Filipino Teachers!

Last Sunday we enjoyed the goodies that the Filipino teachers provided to thank the parishioners for making them feel at home at Corpus Christi during this school year.

New Pastoral Council

The new Pastoral Council met for the first time on Monday, June 14, and elected the following officers: Ted Miles, president; David Sills, vice president; Michelle Corbett, secretary.  The other members of the 2010-2011 Council are David Bowles, Jessica Mong & Audrey Carrion, Renard Corbett, Jerry Hammell, Joyce Hill, Ted Miles, Mary Jane O’Brien, Paula Pratt, Matt Reinhart, Deb Schofield.  Departing members from last year’s Council are Nancy Delea, Adrian Redd & Lewyn Garrett, and Julia Pearson.  Thanks to all of these parishioners for their service to our community, with a special thanks to Julia Pearson, who served as President for two years!

Thank You from the DRE

The Feast of Corpus Christi is a special feast for the Church but an especially day for celebration for this community. On this feast weekend, I wanted to thank you for your support and encouragement over this past year. You are a truly wonderful community to serve and my life has been enriched by the witness of faith that you all give. I wanted to expressly thank the parents of the children who attend our catechetical program. Thank you for your patience and trust as I took over the program this year.  I wanted to expressly thank the teachers who taught in our catechetical program, whether you taught every Sunday, served as a substitute, or led the Children’s Liturgy of the Word, you gave a gift not simply to the children, but to the whole parish and again, thank you, for your patience. I am excited to continue my ministry at Corpus Christi and as I keep you all in my prayers that you have a restful summer and that you return back to us safely, I ask for your prayers, that I may continue to serve you in a way that honors this community and the Church.
